Projects: Miami Central Station
Bicycles + Pedestrians
The Miami Central Station (MCS) is being planned to provide safe and easy bicycle and pedestrian access to all transportation connections at the MIC. An elevated pedestrian link will connect the Rental Car Center, the MIA Mover and the MCS at the MIA Mover's platform level. Along the way, moving sidewalks will route passengers through to their rail or bus destination, or to the public esplanade. The elevated pedestrian link ends at the upper level of the MCS concourse, a public open-air gathering spot around the public esplanade. Despite being open air, the design will shield the public from any weather inclemencies. Plans are also being made for bicycle accommodations at the MCS, such as bike racks, locker space and other amenities throughout.
In addition, the MIC is studying ways to safely connect bicycle and pedestrians to the Miami River Greenway, which has planned on-road connections to NW 37th Avenue and NW 25th Street.
